Bryan Fine spent almost two decades in hospitals. One thing never stopped bugging him: getting a message to a patient, or a patient's message back to him, was harder than it should have been. Everything else in his life could text. His kids could text. His bank could text. Healthcare couldn't. That's the root of everything he's built since.
But that's the root, not the whole tree.
He's also a single dad raising two kids on his own. A guy who taught himself to code, mostly with AI these days, and he's picky about the difference:
"I code, using AI. I don't vibe code."
His own math on why it works, about as plainly as he'd put it: get 100 people to pay you $200 a month, that's a quarter million a year, and you can run most of it yourself. No board, no burn rate, no pitch deck. PercyTech started with one real problem and grew into Gnymble, PercyMD, PercyText, and custom builds for people who need software that fits them.
He still sees patients.
Medicine is where this started, not the whole story of who he is now. Dad, builder, coach, writer, still figuring out midlife and pretty cheerful about it ("not too late, just inconvenient"). It all comes from the same root, and none of it is the whole story on its own.
It all shows up in how PercyTech works: direct, human, no patience for friction or corporate speak. Same instinct that started the whole thing: cut the friction, connect the people.
